Summary
Canada has a federal + provincial tax system. You pay income tax to both the federal government (via the CRA โ Canada Revenue Agency) and your province. You need a Social Insurance Number (SIN) to work and pay taxes. The tax year runs from January 1 to December 31, with the filing deadline on April 30. The Netherlands and Canada have a tax treaty.
